MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions Announces Facility Expansion at Metform

Mundelein, Illinois September 28, 2012 — Duncan MacLean, President of MacLean-Fogg
Component Solutions, announced the ground-breaking of an 86,000 square foot precision
component machining facility at its Metform location in Savanna, Illinois. According to Mr.
MacLean, “This investment will enable Metform to significantly expand its already strong
position in the driveline component forging and machining market.”


“This investment in infrastructure, machinery and equipment is expected to top $30 million and
create more than 50 new jobs within the next 2 years,” explained Matthias Praus, Vice President
and General Manager at Metform.

With 10 Hatebur hot forging presses, Metform is one of North America's leading horizontal hot
forging companies. Metform is a supplier to the automotive, heavy duty, and agriculture
industries among others. Metform's well-known product brands in the heavy-duty industry
include Securex and Axilok truck fasteners. Engineered components include gear blanks,
bearing races, industrial hot-formed components and wind power components. Linkage and
suspension components include suspension ball joint housings.

Construction will begin this month on this new state-of-the-art machining factory adjacent to the
existing hot forming plant on Route 84 in Savanna, Illinois. Operations are expected to
commence in the first quarter of 2013. Metform has three Illinois locations: two in Savanna and
one in Mt. Carroll.
