Mundelein Quoting Process Improvement

 

MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions has been steadily gaining new business over the years; we are a continuously growing company. This naturally means a significant increase in quote requests to process. As a company, we have realized that the quotation process we currently have in play today will not keep up with our customers’ needs, which is at the top of our priority list. 

 

In the spirit of continuous improvement, a quotation process improvement kaizen was held during the last week of August using Lean methodology. A cross-functional team from multiple MFCS locations gathered in order to focus on reduce the cycle time of our current process. Overall, this will effectively allow us to get back to our customers in a timelier manner and provide better service with top quality. 

 

By the time the facilitated event was wrapped up, the team walked away with a detailed, in-depth action plan to follow through with the improvements. The Mundelein team expects incremental improvements within the next few weeks, and most action items wrapped up by the end of the calendar year.
