MFCS Think Tank

On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, the first annual MFCS Think Tank meeting was held at Meadow Brook Hall on Oakland University’s campus, located in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This year’s theme was how to showcase MacLean-Fogg as a great company to work for, with the focus being on recruiting, retaining and empowering women.

50 women representing MFCS and MPS were in attendance. The meeting started with a tour of the mansion followed by a welcome greeting from thePresident, Fastener Components.

We were fortunate to have the President and CEO of OESA and theDirector of Chassis Technology, ZF, as guest speakers. Both women were able to tell their stories of their experiences as women in the automotive manufacturing field. They spoke of the obstacles they faced in a field dominated by males and how they were able to overcome them and be successful.

After lunch, a professor in the human resources department from Oakland University in Rochester, Michiganasked the question and led the discussion on MacLean-Fogg’s current state and desired future state for a company that attracts, recruits, retains and empowers women, and how to bridge the gap to get there. The rest of the day was spent brainstorming as teams. Many great suggestions and ideas were raised during the discussions.

Most importantly, women in attendance left the meeting with a renewed sense of empowerment and enthusiasm for MacLean-Fogg.

Thank you to all who attended and a big thank you to MacLean-Fogg for bringing us together!
